Brands being built on dissatisfaction - this is a concept that has never entered my mind before. Why do I have to many lipsticks and makeup products? When making the purchases, I obviously think to buy a new lipstick because I am looking for variety. But why do I need variety? Because I want something new and different? Or because I am dissatisfied with the one I have? Either way, the option of having a variety of the same line of products is a genius marketing scheme in itself. Having a collection or something is an appealing idea - a collection of nail polishes, a collection of Swatches, a collection of shoes... There is something to buying the same line of products that you may not need, but I don't know if dissatisfaction is the underlying idea here.
